The present study examines the fatty acid composition, phytochemicals content and antioxidant potential of Smilax excelsa L. shoots, which grows spontaneously is consumed as food in rural areas Düzce (Türkiye) province, was investigated. DPPH, ABTS OH radical scavenging tests were utilized to put forth antiradical properties extracts this plant. In addition, metal chelating plant also evaluated. higher inhibition % value calculated these tests, activity considered results average cleaning test prepared different concentrations methanol, ethanol pure water found be 98.14%, 98.16%, 90.20%, respectively.
